Best of Boise

Our innovative design allows the 300 HR student to pick their pathway, choosing modules that fit into their schedule, and follow their passion for learning more about yoga and meditation. The 200 HR student follows a more set path of modules, while still having room for in depth exploration of the areas they are most inspired by. All modules are open as single courses for those seeking to enhance their own lifepath. This is a Yoga Alliance recognized program.

Whether you are a beginning student establishing a footing or an experienced student with a deeper practice, Sage Yoga & Wellness’s pranasphere is the place to inspire your yoga journey.

Sage Yoga & Wellness is a community of beginner and advanced yogis alike who all are supporting each other on our unique journeys. We practice to find peace, stillness, strength and healing. We honor and encourage one another as we practice, knowing the yoga journey is about much more than simply performing a physical movement. We come to our mats to drop-in, listen, breathe, and be.

Sage feels a deep well of gratitude for all of the support it has received from the Boise community, including it’s many partners such as Radio Boise, the Boise Co-Op, the Boise Bicycle Project, lululemon athletica, the Idaho Conservation League, Treefort Music Fest and StoryStory Night.

"One day as I lay in savasana, I heard it: an inner voice that both belonged to me and to something higher- I was to become a yoga teacher.  The feeling was too strong to ignore and it wasn’t long before an opportunity to join Sage Yoga&Wellness’s200 hour Yoga Teacher Training School presented itself and I took it, without hesitation. It’s now been a year of hard, albeit incredibly rewarding, work that required the building of a relationship with the shadowy parts of myself. Sage's YTT program was a safe container for me to really dive deep. I felt supported by all instructors and students to truly find authenticity.   Mindful movement allows me to move emotions through my body and process them without judgment. This healing process has led to monumental growth for me and is what has inspired me to pursue a career in art therapy. I'll be attending Naropa University in Boulder, CO this fall to further immerse myself in mindfulness, self exploration and healing work." - Connor H.

I found yoga in 2001 during one of my many pursuits of physical fitness.  I stuck with one particular style of yoga for nearly fifteen years before I felt called to seek and study other forms of asana.  I explored other practices, circuited several studios, picked up a couple of books, and discovered that there are EIGHT limbs to yoga and I had been narrowly locked on just one.

Sage is a studio that supports the whole journey for every individual.  Without question, I knew that this is where I wanted to train to become a more substantive yogi, and maybe (just maybe) gain confidence to teach one day.  My experiences throughout the Sage 200hr TT were unusually sharp and often wild encounters with myself.  As is custom, I was taught a solid foundation for sequencing poses and cueing postures; you will get this anywhere you train.  But, I believe what Sage offers is particularly potent, ambitious, and special.  I -- cracked-- wide-- open.   With considerate guidance from the teachers in the program, and a sincere desire to face the uncomfortable stuff for the sake of growth, amazing things started happening in my life.  Metamorphosis, emotional, spiritual and backed by loving community.  It is my deepest honor to be able to share my understanding and love of yoga with other people. - Hilary K

My yoga journey began like so many others, with a Groupon. I was looking for relaxation and stretching, and instead found the key to presence, acceptance, and self love. After my first class at Sage almost five years ago, I knew I was right where I belonged. When Sage began a teacher training program in 2017 I did not hesitate - my door had opened.

I expected all of the usual things, how to sequence and cue a class, some yoga history and philosophy, but instead I took a journey of myself. An inner landscape previously hidden, only visible under the supervision of Sage's loving guidance. Safe space was held, tears were shed, lifelong friendships built. And I still can't do a headstand. My teacher training through Sage Yoga and Wellness was the single greatest I've ever given myself. - Tiffany B.
